Hey y'all.. it's been a hot minute. Being a new mom completely changes your life. Your priorities definitely change and when you get a little free time...being on the computer is the last thing I want/need to do! Seriously though I miss talking about fashion and hopefully as his naps get longer, I'll have more time to do some blogging.
SOOO.. let's talk denim! It's my STAPLE. So easy to style and put on once you find that perfect fit/brand that works for you. I am obsessed with the little details of denim that change throughout the seasons. Denim is one of my favorite pieces to style because it can be as little or as much statement making as you want it to be. You can make an outfit edgy, feminine, 90s, grungy, boho, and SO much more just by the type of jeans you put on.
For spring, I am loving the cropped flare and straight vintage crop (I'll save this one for another day). A cropped flare can be a micro crop or very dramatic. Little details like a controlled fray bottom, front slits, and even snap up button details add interest this season. I styled a simple free people cropped flare jean with a little bit of fray on the hem for an afternoon coffee date. I love the shape that a cropped jean gives you. This one was very clean cut, but there are all different kinds for the style you are looking for. I personally love more distressing. Because it is still so cold in colorado (it was snowing in these pictures), I styled the cropped flare jean with one of my favorite above the ankle bootie that hits the bottom of the jean hem. When it warms up, I plan on wearing these with a slide.
I kept the look casual with a graphic tee, slightly tucked in to show the button details of the jean, and I tied it together by layering a distressed denim blouse that was a lighter wash. Also, if you're a denim lover like me--head to toe denim dressing is IN for spring! I imagine seeing a lot of denim on denim for the festival season, especially in cute sets. So have fun with your denim this spring, I know I will.. as it is an easy and stylish go-to for anyone who doesn't have a lot of time on their hands.
